Aussie Curves 3.0 - Pastel

Pastels have never really been 'my thing'. I've always gone for bright, bold colours. I wasn't even sure these colours were pastel until I looked up the definition and found them on this pastel colour wheel (below) on a design blog.

I remember seeing this Avella skirt for sale at Big W and thinking they aren't really my colours but I really loved the colours together and actually think I can pull it off okay! The black in the skirt makes it appear less pastel and made it easy for me to accessorise with black shoes and a black necklace. I don't really have pastel accessories with the one exception of the cute dusky pink/mauve earrings I used with this outfit.

The black beaded necklace I'm wearing is one I recently bought from the Taking Shape outlet in Melbourne. I paid a bargain price of $9 but the necklace had some huge chunky purple beads on it that reminded me of liquorice allsorts! Fortunately they were all on one strand and were easily removed to leave the remaining three black bead strands. Smart you say?!? Aww shucks don't make me blush!

The top I chose to wear with this skirt is a City Chic top I opshopped for $2 a while back. I'm not a huge fan of the 'Lady Gaga' like puffy shoulders but seriously for $2 Im not going to be picky!
