Blurring Your Photos

A lot of people ask me how I edit my photos to blur the background out, well I finally wrote a blog to explain how to use it.

- First step: open the Tadaa app. The logo is a white letter 'T' in a green box

- The app will open with a camera screen so just click the box down the bottom right hand corner that will take you to your gallery

- Choose the photo you wish to edit

- On the bottom editing tools list, scroll across and choose 'Blur'

- Then the first thing I do is select 'ALL' (on the left of the top boxed options) so the blur goes all over my picture. I also scroll over the blur bar so it goes to 100% and 2 more bars down I scroll the highlights option back to 0%. So now your whole pic is blurred.

- To select the part of the picture you want unblurred (in this case the coffee cup and hand) you need to click the 'Create Mask' button at the top of the screen.

- Then cover the whole area of the object you want unblurred so it is green. Stroke over the outside edges of your pic (bit by bit at a time) and it will shape it automatically (but sometimes not accurately) if the 'edges' button is highlighted. If you unhighlight the 'edges' button then you can manually cover the edges which can be easier if you zoom in

- Once you are happy you can click on the tick in the top right corner...  and tadaa!

- You should be all done! Just click the box with the arrow in it (in the top right hand corner) to save your new photo!

NZ Style Curvettes - Tee

I've had this tee of a fave band of mine, Atlantis Awaits, for some time now but I have never really wore it because of the tight neck line.

Come NZ Style Curvettes Tee challenge and my brain automatically thinks of my band tee and giving a new life!

This (above) is the only pre cut up photo of this top for when I wore it some time back for an Aussie Curves Festival themed challenge.

Here is a great link to a blog post that gives you heaps of tips on DIY Cutting Tees.

The Result:
I love it! I dunno why I didn't do it sooner!!

I just cut out a new neckline and sleeves, made sure they were even and voila! I have already worn this new version more times than I ever wore the old version!

Outfit Details:
• Band tee || Atlantis Awaits || Bought at a gig for $20 I think
• Black skirt || Avella || Opshopped for $3
• Earrings || Opshopped for $1
• Black ring || eBay || $45

Aussie Curves - Homemade

I'm a creative person but not a sewing person. So I knew Pinterest would have something I could make. I didn't think I would find anything that would show me how to make clothing but I did find something clothing could make. And I may have gone a tad overboard!!!

Via Pinterest I found this awesome blog post to make a necklace from an old t-shirt. Find it at: http://aprettypennyblog.com/2011/01/02/project-restyle-easy-no-sew-t-shirt-necklace/

As I run an op shop I grabbed a top and gave it a go... it was so easy so I did it in a few other colours as well!
Here's a quick tutorial to show you what I did:
- Cut off the end of the top. Then cut the top into strips about an inch long.
- Stretch the strips out and then double them over.

- Make sure the seams are lined up all together.
- Use one if the strips to tie together the top beside the seams.
- Then wind this tightly to cover up all the seams. I used two strips to do mine. Then tie at the end.

The photo below explains what I mean when I said I may have gone overboard..!
The instructions on the blog above are much better! I even had some strips left so I made so bangle bits too!
And heres a few pics of me wearing them! Usually jewellery irritates my neck but these didn't cause its purely cotton material. And it keeps your neck warm, so who needs a scarf!
