Aussie Curves 3.0 - Favourite Colour

Red is by far my favourite colour. I'm not really sure why... Maybe its all the compliments I get when I wear red; maybe it's because I've been told so many times that "red is your colour" or "red suits you"; or maybe it's to do with my skin tone or something like that. Whatever it is I totally agree.


I like to mix it up a bit for my Aussie Curve blog posts so I thought I would wear something I haven't really blogged about before or taken many photos of. It's a bit different to my usual style, maybe a bit more grown up or sophisticated and I'm still not 100% about it but it was comfy and pretty so I don't mind and trial and error seems to be the way I dress.


I was so excited to find this red bangle in Lovisa that actually fit me!!! I sometimes have to use moisturiser to get it off but that's better than usual! I've been searching for a plain [primary] red bangle for years but none ever fit... Until now!


The top and pants were from my favourite two op shops and the shoes from a garage sale. I like them all together in an outfit and I can justify the leggings being 'worn as pants' because they are not skin tight, are a thicker material and just look like they are dark capri jeans.



I love the Diana Ferrari heels! Both the colour and design but I think it is these heels that make this outfit look more 'mature'... I guess I am nearly 30 now...


And to top it off as I have been recently....the nail polish! I just love Sally Hansen's crackle nail polish as you can probably tell. I have about 6 or 7 different colours!

When I wore this outfit I got a few compliments, however they were from people different to those who usually compliment me. I only noticed afterwards that they were all older middle aged women (roughly 50-60yrs old) of a more mature and conservative dress style. 

What do you think, is this outfit too mature for a 30 year old? Or maybe its just the shoes? What's your opinion?

Aussie Curves 3.0 - Races

Races aren't really my forte. I don't gamble and am not really a social drinker so I just went with my 'fake it till you make it' slogan and pretended I was getting dressed up for the races.. Just as fun and so much cheaper!!!



I wore this gorgeous Op shopped ASOS Curve dress for my Christmas Day post last year but haven't worn it since so I thought I better give it another wear. Its a bit tighter and shorter than I remembered which just meant I had to wear some sucky in underwear which was fine cause that also prevents thigh rash for me.


My cute little black fascinator is a new Lovisa one I found on an op shop on Melbourne. It still had the Lovisa sale price of $9 on it but no other price and the lady at the op shop counter [who seemed new] thought about it for a split second then said "$2 is that ok?" I felt bad for it being so cheap especially considering it was new so I said I would pay $5 for it instead. My mum just laughed at me and said "you cant help yourself can you!" Nothing wrong with being generous!!



And as usually just to top the outfit off I did my nail polish to match!

Hope & Harvest: Nauticas

Two things I love are Fashion and OpShopping.
Unfortunately there are many limitations when it comes to buying your clothing at op shops when you are "plus size". I have a couple of theories as to why this is but I won't go into it.
These limitations have left gaps in my wardrobe, mainly a few staple pieces and I recently decided I was happy to buy these staples, yes retail price! but preferably from Australian plus size labels just so I could do my bit to contribute to the Australian plus size fashion industry.
A little while back I was looking through Hope & Harvest's new Nauticas range and a couple of items stood out to me. At such a reasonable price they definitely struck me as potential staples I could get.
The classic White Anchor Tee was a must for me. I don't own many white things and definitely not a white tee, so at only $44.95 I was sure to add this to my cart! I intentionally sized up to an XL (equivalent to an AU 24-26) because I wanted to make sure it wasn't snug on me and I'm glad I did cause it's a perfect fit for how I wanted it.

The other staple item I wanted was some pants that I could wear in Summer and the Nauticus Capri Pants were just what I wanted and $79 which seemed very justifiable to me for a pair of pants. I had a bit of apprehension regard what size I wanted to order. Following the size chart I definitely needed an XL to fit my measurements however I'm usually a size 20-22 and I didn't want them to be baggy on me. Im so glad my housemate pointed out to me that its made from super stretchy material cause once I heard that I easily decided that I should order a Large. They fit good but if I wanted them to be a bit more snug I could've ordered a Medium. They fit perfect just trying them on but after wearing them all day they tend to sag a bit. Regardless of that I absolutely love them! The texture is fascinating! I have already worn them heaps!

Aussie Curves - Skirt

I need to look a few weeks ahead on the Aussie Curves Challenge list cause it was only a couple of weeks ago that I did a blog post on this skirt cause it's so awesome! If you wanna read that you can find it HERE!
I'm still gonna use this Pho Sizzle Gone Fishin' skirt for this blog cause I love it! It will definitely be getting lots if wear this summer cause it's cool, bright and short but not too short cause I can still wear my Taking Shape easy breezy shorts without having them visible.
This skirt is designed by fellow curvette Jacqueline from Fashion & Pho for her brand Pho Sizzle. I'm wearing a size 20 the largest size (in quite a few different lines) and it's high waisted so its not too tight.. And it has pockets!!! Proper pockets!!
I recently decided that I wanted to do my bit to support Australian plus size brands. Considering the majority of clothes shopping I do is via op shops there is a bit of a price difference, however this difference is totally worth it. This skirt was $65 which I think is totally reasonable and would probably be similar or even less than what skirts would usually be in retail. 
And just to top off the outfit I have my nail polish, the only thing that has ever stopped me biting my nails! Yellow to go with the skirt and gold glitter over the top.
