Aussie Curves 3.0 - Wedding Guest

Just a quickie for the Aussie Curves challenge this week. What would I wear as a wedding guest? Probably something like this outfit.

A simple dress like this is great in all seasons and I love how [with a belt] this dress enhances my body shape!
If the weather is too cold it can be easily changed into a winter dress by adding leggings or tights.

I would probably wear black tights and a long sleeve black top underneath, like you can vaguely see in the pic below.

Then to complete my outfit I've adding a matching purple clutch, nail polish and some purple jewellery. And there you have it, a wedding guest outfit!

Outfit details:
Hi-lo Dress || City Chic || $20 off eBay
Belt || City Chic || $15
Clutch || Sandler || Opshopped for $5
Platforms || Miss Shop at Myer || $20 on sale ages ago!
Earrings || most likely Diva or Lovisa ages ago
Nail polish || Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pronto Purple

Here is another Wedding guest outfit post I've done too.

Aussie Curves 3.0 - Investment Piece

Investment piece has been a tough one for me because the majority of my clothes, shoes and accessories are opshopped, second hand etc.

However for about 6 months now I have been all for Australian brands and designers. I think supporting Australian plus size or just body positive brands is a really great idea, for so many reasons.
And even though some of my pieces are secondhand I still think it's good to help get the brand name out there but I promise I do intend to buy from them when I can!

Here is my collection so far!

The 'Gone Fishing' skirt $65

The 'Deep Sea Skirt' $65

Safari Shirt - Moss green $129
(Photo from the Hope & Harvest website)
This moss green 'Safari shirt' I preordered from H&H. Can't wait till this baby comes! It feels amazing on! Approx. $129 Must have to be the most expensive top I've ever bought but it feeels ssooo goood!!

White Anchor tee $45

Nauticus capri pants $79

Black Fringed top off eBay for $18

Wet look Scuba leggings
Bought second hand $40 (which includes P&P)

Lace overlay dress $25 (on sale)

Chambray Chiffon tie shirt $30 (on sale)

It's a small collection I know but I have started. And I have my eye on heaps more...like

Pho Sizzle has more I'm a bit excited about!

Huudaverti has This skirt lined with a jersey material!
(picture from Huudaverti website)

Lisa Kerr Designs had lots of great staples I would love! Especially the denim look dress cause it feels so comfortable!

Nyata has the Wanita lady top I need cause my middle name is Juanita.

I could go on forever really but I won't! Instead check out the Investment pieces of the other Aussie Curve babes below!

Outfit 1 - On my way to the Curvy Couture Roadshow

The Trainride to Melbourne
What I wore

The suitcase || SUB-Ø-G || Opshopped for $10
Big enough to fit everything in, small enough to wheel around Melbourne behind me without feeling like I'm a tourist or leaving home.

My black top || City Chic || ??
My comfiest top ever. Necessary cause it was! Travelling, Nerves, Excitment etc etc I needed to be comfy!

The Skirt || 'Gone Fishing' by Pho Sizzle || $65
A comfy skirt but also good to look at cause I didn't want to feel to dressed down walking through Melbourne. Plus it has pockets which came in very handy for my phone and Myki card!

The flowery flats || Naughty Monkey || Opshopped for $1
Comfy shoes were necessary for my walking from the station to my Hotel... Especially since I decided to go the longest, hilliest way possible!

I booked into my hotel, showered and started to get dolled up for the big event!

Aussie Curves 3.0 - Style Inspiration

So I've done this in two parts. Don't ask why, my brain no work good.

First thing.
What is my style?
I couldn't pinpoint my style to just one so I'm going to say my style is Eclectic. Plus I'm pretty sure I've been told or thought that before. I'd say I mix casual chic, classic and girly styles.

This is the outfit I wore today.

Maroon Jeans || Avella || Opshopped for $2
Black loop front top || Autograph || Opshopped for $6
Black sandals || Taking Shape TS14+ || Opshopped for $3
Sunnie || Gift from Bali

Now I'm no fashion style expert but I'd probably classify this (above) outfit as Casual-Chic (pronouced Sheek). My reasoning? Because it's not just casual; I'd put that on more 'bum around the house' outfits like trackpants and the like.  It's not just Chic; to me that just means fashionable and I guess I like to be more specific so I decided Casual-Chic.
I guess it's all in the interpretation. Another person might say Casual-Chic is something completely different.

Second thing.
What/who influences my fashion style?
It's hard to say what influences me when it comes to fashion.
In regards to the outfit I wore today I was influenced by:
• What clothing I own
• The Weather
• What clothing I have/havn't worn lately
• What felt comfortable or my mood
• Then my top was influenced by my pants, my shoes by my top. My jewellery by my other jewellery and so on etc la da da.

I suppose there are a few little thing like my mood, the weather, my current nail polish colour I have on the influence what I wear daily.
I'm also highly likely subconsciously brainwashed by the media, current trends and what shops are selling but I don't think I follow these intentionally.
I buy the majority of my clothing, shoes and jewellery from op shops so I could be wearing something from a current season of clothing, a season from 5 years ago or from a label that no longer exists! I wouldn't know and don't really care about a piece of clothing's trendiness.

What matters to me is that it fits, makes me feel good and I like the way it looks.
