Aussie Curves 3.0 - Shoes

Shoes... Hmm where do I start?!

Like any other female I love shoes! However of late I have realised that I really struggle to find practical shoes that are comfortable enough to wear all day and are still pretty! It's become quite a drama for me.
And there's the cost thing! I'm a bit pov so majority of my shoes come from the op shop and the majority of those end up going back there too! I also don't like the idea of buying shoes online cause I can't try them on and I'm a person that needs to.

I'm fussy with shoes but there's reasons why.
My Shoe Problems & Issues
:: Width and Shape
My foot is wide and almost square at the end of my toes (or stubs as I like to call them). Any shoes that have a closed pointy end or is too curved squashes my little toes too much and cause blisters.

:: Heel Height and Thickness
I'm also quite short, probably around 5'5" so I like to wear a heel as it makes me feel more proportioned but I weigh well over 100kg so I don't trust any skinny or high heels.

:: Comfort Level
I work long days standing and walk around the majority of the day so I need something that stays comfy all day long. I usually end up wearing pretty shoes until midday when I swap to my havianas until closing time. I really don't like doing this cause I feel very unprofessional!

I've chosen 4 pairs of shoes to show you. The first 3 are the main pairs I wear at the moment.
My most worn shoe is my Haviana thongs. Classic black with thin straps and a Swarovski crystal to add a little glam. I bought these online a while back for $25.
- These babies usually come to work with me in a separate bag and get put on around midday when I can no longer put up with the pain of the shoes I chose to wear that day.
- The comfort & cushion level is 100% but unfortunately they don't look very professional or give me any height advantages.

I bought these Lee Cooper heels on sale for $20 at Big W.
- The fact that they are closed around the side of the toes is great cause it stops my little pinky toe from poking out as it tends to have a mind of its own.
- I'm yet to try to wear these all day at work and probably won't as i think they might be a tad high.

These sandals were bought from Target last season, during a half price sale and cost me $15.
- I love these sandals but after wearing them for about 5 hours they tend to hurt the bottom of my foot. I think its because of the hard base the shoe is created ontop of so they cushion factor isn't great.
- Apart from that I love them but it really annoys me that they are no longer available to buy in store.

And last of all is the most recent. These Blue Illusion Wedges I got for $5 from an op shop.
- They are a little tight around my toes but I'm hoping they might stretch overtime as they seem quite new. I even sat with a blowdryer and tried to stretch them! Surprisingly it helped a tiny bit so I might have to sit down for a few hours and try to stretch them more!

Seriously, I just want a pair of black shoes to wear during the summer! Is it that hard really!?!

Yes

  1. Oooh I like those Lee Cooper heels! I also have trouble with shoes, and it seems that no matter how much I spend on them, the quality is always less than average. Now I don't bother with exxy shoes, unless it's a really special occasion.

  2. Once upon a time, I owned probably around 50 pairs of Havianas.

    True story.

    It was around 2006, and I was a dork who was so obsessed with those slippers.

    Thankfully I came to my senses and was able to sell most of them on eBay.

    I think we're feet twins. :)
